About This Service
Under Section 20 of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005, every employer in Ireland is required to produce a written Safety Statement — a programme that sets out how the safety and health of employees and others at the workplace will be secured and managed. The Safety Statement must be based on the hazard identification and Risk Assessment carried out under Section 19 of the Act. It is a company-level document, specific to your organisation and its work activities; a generic Safety Statement does not satisfy the requirements of the Act. Legal Basis
Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005, Sections 19 and 20. Every employer is required to carry out a Risk Assessment (Section 19) and prepare a written Safety Statement based on that assessment (Section 20). A generic Safety Statement does not satisfy the requirements of the Act.
